Eggs

Kim Klassen's prompt for this week in The Studio is Eggs. I was just setting up, checking the light and trying to figure out what I wanted to shoot when I got lucky with some beautiful morning sunlight. But then I was distracted with company coming over.
And was only able to snap a quick shot between conversations when the sun left the East window and scooted across the floor from the South, hitting my gorgeous little garage sale tractor.

I found this beautiful enamel bowl at the junk store today and a white one with a red rim, totally cute.

Light and Shadow

Took this photo in my new favourite place to work, my husband's tool shed.
And with this one it started to rain so I thought I'd try and catch it.
It didn't turn out the way I'd hoped, but the weatherman says rain for tomorrow. Yippee, I get another shot at it.

Light and Shadow

The new prompt this week is Light and Shadow. This photo has a sort of dreamy look to it, I kind of like.
I don't know which one I like more, though. This one's brighter.. I like bright.

Some retro ivy shots.
I think I'm getting better at capturing some nice Bokeh.

Girl in the Garden

My daughter came over and let me photograph her in the garden for this week's ivy prompt.
She was such a good sport about it and so very photogenic.
This one is my absolute favourite.

Ivy

The class prompt this week is, Ivy. So I opened my window and let the ivy tumble in. Actually I set up my lovely window on a table in the yard and draped ivy from my garden all over it. That's a table cloth pretending to be a curtain. I only wish it had been sunny, I didn't get any shadows. But I did get super lucky with that window.
The Habitat for Humanity store was moving to another location and didn't want to haul all their junk over to the new place. The sign said, All windows $10.00, but this one had a price tag of $110.00.
The lady said, "Oh, no, not ten dollars for that one."
"Are you sure?" I say. "The sign says, ALL windows."
"I'll check," she says.
I rock on my heels, hum a little tune, look non threatening.
"You're right!" she says. "It's all yours for ten smackers!"
"Yippee! Thank you, Lady. Pleasure doin' business with ya, M'am." And I troddle off to my car.
Some lovely Ivy on a fence. The fence picture I took at Clayburn Village.
My garden Ivy.

Italian Plates

I found some great props at the junk store today. Pretty silver forks, a lovely white shelf, a baby blue pitcher and two sweet little Italian plates.
The mini cake, I made myself from oven baked clay.

Cherry Blossoms and Roses

I was out practising today with a friend's camera. Such a beautiful camera. Thank you so very much, Donna!
I took these pretty roses at a tea shop in my area.
So happy to get that morning light.

Stacked Butterflies

Still working on the stacked prompt from class. Stacked butterflies... I think it works.

Westminster Abby

We drove up to Westminster Abby in Mission, yesterday. It's a community of Benedictine Monks established in BC. from Oregon in 1939. I read they started building here in 1953.
The gorgeous bell tower and church.
Front view of the Church. I didn't go inside. I wish I had.
The corner of a residence building with that Mission style architecture I love so much.
How lucky it was to get this shot of a meandering monk and his flowing robes.
And here, the beautiful doors he slipped behind.

Stacked Light

Had about ten minutes to take this before the light was gone. Spent five measly seconds answering the phone, and then it was all over! Grrr.
I like this one, Domino Poodle.

Sugar Pansies

I made some sugared pansies last night for this photo. Still working with the Stacked theme from this week's prompt.
I really enjoyed today, maybe because I had to wait overnight for the pansies to dry which gave me time to think about the emotion I wanted to show.
